![]() CD Review Magazine: Harder Beat Issue: March, 2002 Written By: Dixie Beasley Brace yourselves, Dallas' best kept secret, Ventt os gonna blow you away. Aggressive and oh so tasty, this eight song heavy metal dish makes your mouth water from beginning to end. The twin Guitar attack of Matt Acevedo and Troy Broyles is so good it's truly frightening (and really fun to watch live), while the Rhythm section of Drummer extraordinaire, Fred Boyce and super Bassist Brian Saul, is the bands pillar of strength. And, of course, Metal Diva, Karmen Burney adds her delightfully distinctive Vocal styling to put Ventt on/over the top of Dallas' local heap. Standouts are "911", "Sore Loser", "Manifestation" and "Was it something that I said". Whether you're a new fan or an old fan of local metal, this disk is a satisfying heavy taste of what Texas has to offer. |

Live Show Review Magazine: Harder Beat Issue: November, 2001 Written By: Dixie Beasley Some of you may remember a little band called LIVID RAGE that rocked our Asses off for many years. Well, hang on to your hiney's cause VENTT has 50% of LIVID's members and 500% of it's power. Matt Acevedo's raucous riffs were as strong and entertaining as ever, while the rhythm section of Brian Saul on bass and Fred Boyce on drums kept the crowd head banging hard. But it was the Molten Metal Vocals of Karmen Burney that infused pure aggression into their set! She is, hands down the best female metal singer in town! New songs "Glass Jaw", Was it Something that I said", "Sore Loser", and "Full Blown" were crowd pleasers and showed a certain maturity to their song writing that has never been before. They also had the crowd going wild with an excellent cover of Distubed's "The Sickness". VENTT is pure metal pleasure- see them soon. |
