![]() ![]() Everyone may be aware of the Underground Railroad that hides beneath the busy streets of downtown Dallas, but most of you are not aware of the madness that has lurked beneath: the following is based on a true story. On a hot summer night in downtown Dallas Texas, 2 members of a 10 year project known as Livid Rage ventured thru the streets discussing new possibilities, when out of the darkness sprang a small framed man. The man introduced himself as Dr. Kuku and presented the 2 with an opportunity to make some money and at the same time help him with an experiment at his laboratory. He promised them $200 For 5 minutes of their time. They discussed and agreed they could use the money. So away they went with the Dr. leading the way. Little did they know the Dr. was no Dr. at all, but an escaped mental patient 10 years prior from the county hospital. The couple was taken down a long dark path underground as the lunatic cackled uncontrollably. As they entered the dim lit laboratory they encountered 3 more musicians also looking for a new project, the 5 discussed how the odd little man had approached them with a proposition of a quick $200 bucks. Then like a bolt from the blue the little psycho emerged from a door, they were each presented with a vial of liquid, the vials were full of glowing green liquid and the smell was horrible. "Money's on the table, yours for the taking, now drink," exclaimed the mad man. Each member drank the liquid and one by one fell out on the floor. Little did they know they had just drank liquid derived from specific DNA. To 2 of the musicians he gave DNA from the lightning quick, ferocious, Great White Shark another received DNA from a rabid howler monkey the other two received snake venom from the deadly black mambo tainted with a hint of nitrous oxide. Falling to the floor one by one no one is quite sure for how long they were out but when they came to, the crazy little man, the money and the lab had all vanished. Feeling their way down the dark corridor a small glisten of light from an outlet at the end of the tunnel, it was a VENTT to the upper streets of Dallas that set them free. They emerged adrenalized and anxious, for something great was around the corner and they all could feel this new rejuvenation running through their veins. YOU figure out who got what!!!! Of course this is all a fictional account except for the Underground Railroad part that is true! But this was much more interesting than just saying Time bomb Karmen on Vocals, Riffmeister's Matt and Troy on guitars, thumpin John on Bass, and Fred on Blistering Drums, are pursuing a new project and VENTT is its name. So welcome to the official web site of Dallas Texas' best kept secret VENTT! |

"When Scientists decided that the atom wasn't the smallest thing on Earth and split that ball of energy - out popped Karmen!" - Ethan Nahte': Harder Beat. That quote pretty much sums up the whole of VENTT. Just about everyone who comes to see VENTT perform leaves at the end of the night completely drained of all energy due to the explosive yet melodic onslaught of it's band members. Cutting loose and not letting up is what it's all about and Karmen and co. are very well versed in this area. VENTT was born on Sept. 20th 2000, out of a need for new direction and individual identity between 5 serious musicians/friends. Each had done their time with other projects paying there dues, shaking babies and kissing ass, each has put in their steps on the proverbial ladder that is the DFW local scene. Realizing that all of their different backgrounds had brought them full circle together, jamming was comfortable and productive and all five share the same love for peeling the paint off of the wall any time they are given an opportunity. Each member has their own list of credentials and accomplishments, as well as great stories of times and people they have encountered over the past 8 years. It is these things that bring Karmen , Matt, Troy, John, and Fred together to bring you VENTT! "Karmen is, hands down the best female metal singer in town!" - Dixie Beasley: Harder Beat Magazine. "If you've ever wanted to know what heavy/aggressive is, check out this band! They'll set the definition straight for any doubting headbanger." - Music News. "It's fun to watch and listen to this band because they take themselves seriously and go out there to play great music and have fun doing it." - Joseph Manz: EFFE Magazine. VENTT was also listed as "Favorite Local Acts" in Harder Beat's "Best of 2001" article by both Dixie Beasley and Derek James.
